Dusting the cobwebs off…. July 9, 2009

So..it’s been a minute since I’ve been on the blogosphere..have you missed me? LOL.  Happy Belated 4th of July and all that..so I guess I should update everyone on exactly where and what mzinspiredmind has been up to here of late…

Charlotte (for now) is a no go.    I applied and applied and applied and APPLIED and got nowhere.  It’s coo. I figure that for some reason(unknown to me) that for ‘now’ OH must be where I’m meant to be.  It sucks but it is what it is. I’m just trying to keep my head above water.

Since I’m not moving, I’m making the most of my situation and getting a lot accomplished on the education side.  Summer school is in full effect and starting Fall quarter, I’ll actually be going to two different colleges/universities to increase my marketability. (Getting  licensures and whatnot)

I’m working 2 jobs now.  I’m still an ‘Associate’ at my main job but also work in the Sports Rec complex at my University.  Let me say now I never realized how much chocolately goodness was actually at my University.  Working in this area, I see it all…the Lord is GOOD!!!!

One of my very good friends gets married on Saturday.  Both my daughter and I are in the wedding. I’m nervous like it’s my wedding.

I am NOT in a relationship but am enjoying the single life for now.  There’s more to be said on this topic, but we’ll talk about that another time. 

In the coming weeks(can ya’ll believe summer is almost over!) I’ll be going to Detroit where I’ll visit (again) w/ my blog bff Jurista!!!  I’m going to Vegas for a much needed vacay the week after next…OMG..is that really that soon? I haven’t even packed yet! Yikes.   I’ll be headed to Memphis where I hope to meet up w/ Pserendipity and I’ll end the summer w/ a trip to NY for Labor Day where I plan to have Kelly take me to every hidden gem of a store to shop, shop, shop.

My internet is sick at home so I haven’t been a slave to my pc like usual.  Oh yea, I’m thinking of making the switch and purchasing a Mac for Fall quarter. I love my precious Toshiba but more and more, strange things have been happening w/ her.

Oh yea…can you believe I’ll have a 7yr old next month! LAWD!

Hot & Hungry…. June 25, 2009

I’m still here…(as I wipe the cobwebs off of my blog)..it’s been a helluva ride these past few weeks so I’m going to give it to you random, no chaser!

As the title of this post states, I’m hot(it’s 93 degrees here today) and hungry(even though I’m demolishing a sandwich as we speak)

Charlotte NC (or any other state for that matter) is looking like it’s not going to be a reality.  I’ve been applying, applying, applying, and APPLYING and have gotten some good leads but nothing has panned out.

Some days I get really upset over that and want to cry, and then other days I realize it could be so much worse.

I’m thankful for the things I have and don’t have.

God doesn’t give us what we WANT in life, but what we NEED<—remember that.

I haven’t really been on Twitter like I used to be.  I miss it. I actually am starting to like it better than FB(Facebook)

Insanely busy(but fun) wkend coming up!  Bachelorette Party so plenty of pics coming by Monday(maybe sooner)

I’m in the process of booking a mini vacay for the kids an I.  It’s not as ‘major’ as I would like it to be but something that we all will definitely enjoy and we’ll be getting the hell outta da state of OH for a few days.

Going to have to scale down some on talking about my ‘friend’.  He reads my blog now {{waving hi cutie!}} so I have to limit what I may or may not say about him (darn!)

Ryann lost both her top front teeth, is it cruel that I’m scheduling our family pictures NOW so I can tease her about them as she gets older? LOL

Dony is such a lil man.  That boy makes my heart absolutely soar.

Days like today(in class) make me so proud of my chosen career path.  The sky is truly the limit(in my eyes)

I have turned into a total girly girl this summer…I am all about sun dresses, hats, accessories and stilettos

Today has been hella productive for me(I’m so proud of myself)

I pray that one of the opportunities I have applied for turn into a fulltime position

What in the world would I do w/out ya’ll?  Some of ya’ll, I have gotten extremely close to and I feel like we’ve been friends forever.

Think I’m going to write in my ‘gratitude book’ b/c I’m feeling very uplifted now.

I’ve heard people say that when they’ve met someone, they just ‘knew’.  They knew that person was meant to be their husband or wife.  I never really experienced that for myself, until now…..This is crazy.  I don’t recall ever looking into someones eyes and seeing my whole future. I’ve never looked into someones eyes and saw everything I could ever want, and more.  What’s even crazier? This man has been around for years(8 to be exact) and has watched me go thru countless trials and tribulations and he stood by me as a friend…tell me why now I look at him in a totally different light?

Possibly go out or on a date…both of these are still up in the air

Sunday

Go to a nice lazy brunch

Go to the Troy Strawberry Festival

Go to a Yogailates Fusion class

Go to a jazz set at a local ‘lounge’ to support a neighbor

This wkend will be filled w/ good food and friends, culture, shopping, ’spirits’, and pretty sundresses. Yep, this is what its (the wkend) made for…

Whats good fam?
I’ve noticed that I’ve started to get ‘that feeling’ again here lately. (No not about blogging, I have plenty to say, just haven’t really said it) but about my surroundings.  I’m starting to feel like I need to change things up a lil bit to get where I truly want to be in life.   I can’t stand people who talk about where/what they want to be but don’t do the legwork that is required for them to get there!

What happens to those that are doing all the legwork but still aren’t getting any results though?

That’s me right now.  I’ve obviously got to change things up.  I really need to sit down and have a CTJ(come to Jesus).

I don’t desire to ever be rich, but I do want to be comfortable.  Taking care of my children and myself is my first and only PRIORITY right now.

Speaking of the above, why come(yep why come..*snicker*) every time I tell a man this, he interprets it as him needing to come ’save me from my harsh singlemomhood reality’

Nah son(as Fresh would say) I got this. Back the fuck up.

I was reading one of S23’s post(I so heart her) and was feeling her every word. I’m feeling real melancholy today.  That’s the reason for this random-esque post. (I’m thinking the dreariness of outside is playing a part too)

Ever been in a room full of people and still felt all alone? Helluva feeling ain’t it?

Roots, branch, leaves…Madea wasn’t lying when she spoke of that.   How many true roots do we have in our lives?(Friendship wise)

Pandora on my Blackberry is the hotness.  What’s not the hotness, is it stopping everytime I get a email,text, BB messenger, etc.

I love my Dad, I really do. Thank God for him EVERY.SINGLE.DAY

As of 3:40 today, I’ll officially have a 2nd grader.  My ‘first born baby’ isn’t a baby anymore.

Still keep Dony in your prayers…that boy is a HANDFUL!!!

Have a hair appt w/ a new and highly recommended beautician on Thursday, thinking of cutting my hair off and donating it to ‘Locks of Love’.  Change is good right?

The Barber(yea I’m sure ya’ll are as sick of hearing his name as I am of hearing his voice..UGH) jus called and asked me to borrow MY car.  That’s funny.  I thought it was a joke so I laughed.  I guess he didn’t, so he hung up.  ::shrugs shoulders::

I say I’m ready for love but aren’t really sure I really want it.

This week is kinda do or die week at school. I’m so ready for this chapter to be over so I can start on the next.  I got a

4 1/2 year plan that’s the bomb (LOL…why did I feel like Diamond in ‘Players Club’ when I said that)

Memorial Day weekend… May 22, 2009

Taking a hint from my lil sis , I wanted to remind everyone that today isn’t just the start of a long weekend.  Please all remember the men and women who have lost their lives fighting for our country and also those that are both active duty and now veterans of our armed forces!   I’m sending a special shout out to my lil brother

Michael ‘Inspiredmind’ II.    He’s a military police officer in the Air Force.  He is getting ready for his 3rd deployment to Afghanistan.  I am sooooooooooooo proud and love you so very much baby bro!

What are your plans for this holiday weekend?

I have to work tomorrow(blah) but plan to spend time with family and friends the rest of the weekend and be in attendance at a few bbqs (*wink) I will most definitely also call my baby bro and tell him how much I love him and how proud of him I am.

MUST SEE movies…. May 14, 2009

Based on the best selling novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire.  The title of this movie was originally called ‘Push’ as well, but has now been changed to ‘Precious’(the main character’s name).  I’ve read this book cover to cover many times(and am currently re-reading it) and it’s an excellent book.  From the looks of this trailer, this movie is on point! The movie boasts stars such as Monique and Mariah Carey among others.

This is based off of a TRUE STORY that occurred during the 2000 election(We all remember that, right?)  This is about a young black woman who has to battle our nation’s legal system.  Unfortunately, this movie is only being released in ’select markets’. I wonder why!(Hmmph)  This boasts stars such as Will Patton, Alfre Woodard, Xzibit, Charles Dutton and others.   Please go see this movie!

Where I’ve been.. May 12, 2009

Hi Sweeties,

I know you all are probably wondering(or probably not) where I’ve been! Mzinspiredmind has been BUSY, BUSY, BUSY.  Life is definitely on the upswing here of late.  Let me update you all on what’s been going on in my world.

So, I have a interview in Charlotte tonight at 6pm.  I was informed of it via email last Friday at 4:45pm.  {{SCREECH}}.  I emailed my potential boss and reminded her that I was currently in OH and wasn’t able to get to NC on such short notice.  She agreed and has decided to give me an “in depth” phone interview tonight instead. PRAISE GOD!!! I’m soooooooo excited. I really really really want this job and just have a very very good feeling about it.

The Feds are having a job fair in the DMV(DC/MD/VA) area this week. I’m mad I can’t go, but it’s ok b/c I’ve been getting it in applying for jobs here .  There are 47, 120 US Government jobs available to job seekers….yea, ya’ll should be running to click on that link!

The Barber and I still go ’round for round’ on the phone sometimes.  Our breakup didn’t seem to provide the ‘closure’ that either of us wanted or needed.   In all honesty, the Barber was not the best person for me.  He said/did a lot of things that were NOT ok and I realize that much more is accomplished now that he’s gone.

Sometimes we outgrow people and their friendships, it’s a part of life.  Nuff said.

My Mothers Day was beautiful. I have wonderful friends and family!

The kids are doing really well. I can’t believe I’m about to have a 2nd grader.  Dony has a late birthday so one more year until Kindergarten.  Honestly, he’s not ready yet(in a maturity sense) so I think this is a good thing.

I have a new job.  It’s part time but it’s helping with the bills so I definitely won’t complain.

The Quarter is almost over and as of July 15th, ‘this’ chapter in my book of education will be ending and another one beginning.  I’m anxious as all hell for it to be so I can move on.

I’ve met some pretty cool folks on the Internet and I’m glad I blog, even if it’s just to  see my own thoughts.

It’s almost summer and I cannot wait! I have soooooo many trips lined up.  I love ‘fun in the sun’
